The poster continues DCEU’s shift to brighter and lighter look that started after director Joss Whedon’s involvement, and away from the darker tone and aesthetic that Zack Snyder started.
Superman is also conspicuously missing in the poster, which was released through the film’s Twitter account Wednesday morning. Though this has been the case since production started, Clark Kent did show up recently on Justice League’s latest trailer fueling speculation about the extent of man of steel’s involvement in the film.
Justice League is the second DCEU film this year, following this summer’s top grosser Wonder Woman. Scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017, the film also stars Henry Cavill Ciarán Hinds, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, and J. K. Simmons.
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
