Tribeca Festival 2024 Announces Return Of Music Lounge At Baby’s All Right In Brooklyn, June 6-9

tribeca-festival-music-loungeThe 2024 Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, today announced its third annual Music Lounge at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, featuring four days and nights of exclusive performances, special guest appearances, and more. The Music Lounge is open to the public from June 6-9 and offers Tribeca Festival attendees the opportunity to intimately experience the music celebrated in a selection of this year’s films.  
 
The 2024 Tribeca Music Lounge includes a rare performance by pop hitmaker Linda Perry, sharing the stage with Stella Rose following the world premiere of the documentary Linda Perry: Let It Die Here; the first-ever tribute to Genesis P-Orridge with members of Psychic TV, following the world premiere of S/He Is Still Her/e – The Official Genesis P-Orridge Doc; and an intimate set by Kneecap, the Irish language rapping trio who will be celebrating the New York premiere of their self-titled spotlight narrative film. Rounding out the weekend will be audiovisual performances by Actress, the stage name taken by British electronic artist Darren Cunningham, and Lower East Side multi-instrumentalist and Onyx Collective founder Isaiah Barr, who will present his project “THE RED ZONE.”
 
“This year’s music films showcase a wide variety of artists and genres, and we sought to bring diversity to our Music Lounge through unique events,” said Tribeca Curator of Music Programming Vincent Cassous.  “There is something for every music fan on our lineup, from pop to experimental.”
 
Previously announced music programming at Tribeca Festival 2024 includes documentaries Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story with Liza Minnelli; Satisfied about Renée Elise Goldsberry; Avicii – I’m Tim with Tim “Avicii” Bergling, Chris Martin and David Guetta; Desire: The Carl Craig Story with Carl Craig; and the world premiere of Paramount+’s Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken with Melissa Etheridge. The Storytellers Series, presented by City National Bank and Starbucks, features Michael Stipe and Jon Batiste in conversation celebrating Nat King Cole, while this year’s reunions and retrospectives, presented by City National Bank, as well as the 40th anniversary of Beat Street, with an introduction by Nas. Additionally, the animated musical based on Daft Punk’s album “Discovery,” Interstella 5555: The 5tory Of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem, will be screened for the first time in North America in remastered 4K.

Thursday, June 6
8:00 PM – Performance by Actress with Isaiah Barr – Actress, the stage name taken by British electronic artist Darren Cunningham, will present his latest studio album LXXXVIII (Ninja Tune), the culmination of 25 years of perfecting audio infusions for dancefloors, festivals, raves and concert halls. Joined by Lower East Side  and Onyx Collective founder Isaiah Barr, who will present his audiovisual project “THE RED ZONE,” a sonic transportation through industrial landscapes.
 
Friday, June 7
7:00 PM – Performance by Linda Perry with Stella Rose – A rare performance by pop hitmaker Linda Perry who will share the stage with Stella Rose following the world premiere of the documentary Linda Perry: Let It Die Here. Perry, as lead singer and main songwriter for 4 Non Blondes, wrote the group’s international 1993 hit “What’s Up?” prior to establishing herself as a major songwriter and producer. Her name can be found on compositions and recordings by numerous artists including Christina Aguilera, Jewel, Britney Spears, Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Melissa Etheridge, Solange Knowles, Cheap Trick, Faith Hill, and many more. In 2022, Stella Rose and the Dead Language were the winners of Tribeca Music Lounge’s Battle of the Bands.
 
Saturday, June 8
8:00 PM – Genesis P-Orridge Tribute Concert with Psychic TV, CHRISTEENE, David J (Bauhaus) and Special Guests – The first-ever tribute to Genesis P-Orridge with members of Psychic TV (Alice Genese, Jeff Berner, Douglas Rushkoff and Randy Schrager) following the world premiere of S/He Is Still Her/e – The Official Genesis P-Orridge Doc. With visuals by Sam Zimmerman, special guests include CHRISTEENE, David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Cynthia Sley (Bush Tetras), Shilpa Ray, Tori Wolf, Time Wharp, John Jackson, and an PTV-acid-house DJ set by the legendary Chris Holmes (Paul McCartney’s DJ). 
 
Sunday, June 9
8:00 PM – Performance by Kneecap – An intimate set by Kneecap, the Irish language rapping trio, in celebration of the New York premiere of their self-titled spotlight narrative film.
