Its official. After the recent commercial success of Suicide Squad, DC’s comic book movie universe continue to expand, as Warner Bros. moves ahead with Green Lantern Corps.

This new version is described as ‘Lethal Weapon in space‘, and that there will be not one, but two main characters: Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Hal Jordan appeared in 2011’s Green Lantern, with Ryan Reynolds playing the title character. According to Deadline, David Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight) will produce the movie and co-write the screenplay with Justin Rhodes.

Just hours after the Green Lantern Corps news broke out, Sterling K Brown tweeted his interested to play John Stewart:

Green Lantern Corps is set to be released on June 19, 2020.
