Paul Hogan is back on TV poking fun at wrestling

By Armando

Watch WWE Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan save the day once again in a strange yet fun new commercial created by advertising agency DDB & Tribal Worldwide Amsterdam for Dutch insurance company Centraal Beheer, the largest insurance company in the Netherlands. The Hulkster appears as himself in the commercial, which is the 60th in Beheer’s “Just Call Us”, a campaign that has been running for 30 years.

Appropriately titled “The Hulk”, the bizarre new TV spot shows a family enjoying the day and taking pictures at the pier when suddenly a thief snatches the mother’s bag. In comes Hogan, stopping the thief before he get away. He then pulls his punches, yet does the bad guy no harm by missing his target by a few inches and his signature wrestling moves not connecting, a sequence that seem to poke fun at professional wrestling’s dramatized athletic performance and world of make-believe.

Not exactly the comeback his fans are expecting. But its a light and fun commercial for Hogan, who was disgraced back in 2015 and has been absent from American wrestling for a couple of years.

CMT Exclusive: Interview with Vivek Maddala on Scoring for The Tom and Jerry Show

By Elizabeth Walker

Vivek Maddala has written scores for numerous films, and studied jazz performance at the Berklee College of Music. One of his most recent projects has been writing for the Cartoon Network reboot of Tom and Jerry. I reached him by phone to discuss his latest project.

Elizabeth Walker: So is this your first time writing for animation?

Vivek Maddala: My first job writing for film was working for Turner Classic Movies. They were restoring old silent films from the 1920s. Back then, there was no score, because they didn’t have a way of synching music with the film, so I had to create the score. I did five or six of thosefor TCM, and they were not that difference from scoring for animation.

EW: How so?

VM: There is no dialogue between Tom and Jerry, and only a bit from the minor characters. As aresult, it is very visual, and the music has to convey a lot of the emotions. So I did my training for that by scoring the silent films.

EW: Interesting. So how were you approached for this particular project?

VM: On the silent films, I was fortunate enough to work with a tremendous recording and mix engineer – and a very talented musician in his own right – named Dan Blessinger. He was actually the one who recommended me for the Tom and Jerry gig.

Gotham: Synopsis for New Episode Teases Jerome’s Return

By AI Creative Media

Back in Season 2 of Gotham, we saw Cameron Monaghan’s dastardly Gotham villain, Jerome, meet his end at the hands of Gotham City mayor Theo Galavan. But the popularity of the character (due in huge part to Cameron’s memorable portrayal) didn’t stop fan speculation of his possible resurrection in some way or form.

Recently, the show isn’t making a secret about Cameron Monaghan’s character return. With the mid-season finale “Beware the Green-Eyed Monster” weeks ago, the first trailer for Gotham’s 2017 season teased the return of the deranged villain, while actor Monaghan himself took to Twotter in September to confirm his return:

The response from Gotham fans to the character has been overwhelmingly positive from the start, so bringing him back from the grave should give us an exciting season ahead.

Here’s the synopsis for January’s midseason premiere of Gotham, titled “Ghosts.”

Cameron Monaghan and Paul Reubens Return
Falcone places a hit on Gordon after learning that he shot Mario. Gordon and Bullock discover a follower of Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan), who plans to bring him back to life. Meanwhile, Penguin spirals out of control before the biggest television interview of his Mayoral career, and Bruce and Selina deal with Selina’s mom’s return to Gotham.

Gotham returns on January 16, 2017.
