Broken English co-directors Iain Forsyth and Jane PollardBroken English made its Sundance Film Festival debut on Sunday, January 25, with a Spotlight screening at Eccles Theatre in Park City. The North American premiere was preceded by a red carpet press line, where filmmakers, producers, and performers gathered ahead of the evening’s screening.

Directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, Broken English is a documentary portrait of singer, songwriter, and cultural icon Marianne Faithfull. The film blends archival material, staged sequences, and performance, presenting Faithfull’s life and career through a stylized and unconventional lens rather than a traditional retrospective format.

Forsyth and Pollard attended the red carpet alongside producer Beth Earl and executive producers Victoria Steventon, Julia Xu, Julia Stier, and Miranda Bailey. Performers Norah Jones and Rufus Wainwright were also present ahead of their post-screening tribute performances, which followed the film’s premiere and added a live element to the evening’s celebration.

The Sundance appearance follows the film’s earlier world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. At Sundance, Broken English screened as part of the festival’s Spotlight section and was presented in person only, drawing a full house and a noticeably attentive crowd.

The night felt less like a standard documentary premiere and more like a shared moment of remembrance, fitting for a film centered on legacy, memory, and artistic refusal to conform.

Harry Styles Announces Global Residency Run “Together, Together”

The Live Nation-promoted run includes 50 performances across Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Melbourne, and Sydney, with Styles limiting his live appearances next year to those cities only.

The residency includes major stretches in New York and London, highlighted by 30 shows at Madison Square Garden, his only U.S. dates of 2026, and a six-night run at Wembley Stadium. Rather than a traditional tour, the format focuses on extended stays, turning each city into its own chapter.

The announcement comes alongside new music. Styles will release his new single “Aperture” tonight, January 22, ahead of his fourth studio album Kiss All The Time. Tedeschi Trucks Band Announce Future Soul Album and 2026 Tour

tedeschi-trucks-bandTedeschi Trucks Band have announced Future Soul, their sixth studio album, set for release on March 20 via Fantasy Records, alongside plans for a wide-ranging 2026 tour. The band has also shared the album’s first single, “I Got You,” which is out now.

Led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, the 12-piece ensemble recorded Future Soul at their own Swamp Raga Recording studio in Florida, as well as Phantom Studios in Tennessee. The album follows 2022’s ambitious I Am The Moon project and continues the band’s collaborative, full-band approach to songwriting, drawing from blues, soul, rock, funk, and gospel influences.

The Future Soul Tour will begin this spring following the band’s annual residency at New York’s Beacon Theatre. The tour includes stops across North America through the fall, with shows at major venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and multiple multi-night runs. Select dates will feature co-headlining performances and special guests, including Alabama Shakes, Sheryl Crow, and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.

The run marks one of his biggest regional outings yet, leaning fully into the high-energy, crowd-first approach that’s defined his live shows for years.

The tour kicks off May 14 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and stretches through the summer, hitting major amphitheaters and stadiums across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up in late September. Stops include venues like the Hollywood Bowl, Hersheypark Stadium, and Jones Beach, among others.

Locket, out this Friday, is Beer’s latest studio album and her most hands-on project yet, with the singer co-writing and co-producing the record. Bruno Mars Announces ‘The Romantic Tour’

Mars has announced The Romantic Tour, his first global headline run in nearly a decade and his first-ever stadium tour. The 2026 outing supports his upcoming fourth solo album, The Romantic, arriving February 27.

The tour launches April 10 in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium and will hit major cities across North America and Europe, including Houston, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, Miami, and Los Angeles. Several stops include multiple nights, with venues like Wembley Stadium, MetLife Stadium, and SoFi Stadium signaling just how big this run is expected to be.

Anderson .Paak will join every date as DJ Pee .Wee, with Victoria Monét, RAYE, and Leon Thomas appearing on select shows.

The announcement follows a stretch where Mars hasn’t toured traditionally but has stayed dominant, from his Las Vegas residency to record-breaking stadium runs overseas, including a historic 14-show run across Brazil in 2024.

Michael Apted’s The Long Way Home Returns in Remastered, Expanded Form at MoMA Festival

michael-apted The Long Way HomeMichael Apted’s documentary The Long Way Home will receive its world premiere in a newly remastered and expanded edition at To Save and Project: The 22nd MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation in January.

The 2026 version has been restored from the only surviving 16mm print under the supervision of producer Steven Lawrence and editor Susanne Rostock. The updated edition also includes a newly created epilogue examining the later life of Soviet rock icon Boris Grebenshchikov, whose career and exile following the release of his Western album Radio Silence are revisited decades after the film’s original release.

Originally released in the late 1980s, The Long Way Home follows Grebenshchikov as he became the first Soviet underground rocker to record in the West during the early days of Glasnost. The film documents his collaborations with Western musicians including Dave Stewart, Annie Lennox, Chrissie Hynde, Ray Cooper, and members of Crosby, Stills & Nash, while also capturing tensions with his longtime band Aquarium and his Russian audience.

The remastered edition will screen at MoMA on January 28, with an in-person introduction by Lawrence and Rostock.

Recording Academy Sets 2026 Special Merit Awards Honoring Santana, Khan, Cher and More

The Recording Academy will honor a group of music legends at its 2026 Special Merit Awards Ceremony during GRAMMY Week, returning to the Wilshire Ebell Theatre on January 31.

Lifetime Achievement Award recipients include Carlos Santana, Chaka Khan, Cher, Fela Kuti, Paul Simon and Whitney Houston. Trustees Awards will be presented to songwriter Bernie Taupin, pianist and bandleader Eddie Palmieri, and music executive Sylvia Rhone. Composer and technologist John Chowning will receive the Technical Grammy Award.

The annual ceremony recognizes artists, executives and innovators whose contributions have had a lasting impact on the recording industry. The Special Merit Awards are presented by vote of the Recording Academy’s National Trustees, with the Technical Grammy selected by the Producers & Engineers Wing advisory committees.

The event takes place on the eve of the 2026 GRAMMY Awards and is part of the Academy’s GRAMMY Week programming.
