“Glass” Trailer Teases

By Creative Media Times

Universal Pictures

A new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s much-anticipated “Glass” is about to debut this weekend during San Diego Comic-Con, and today Universal released a teaser to that trailer, something that’s become pretty common to major upcoming studio films.

The teaser features the voice of James McAvoy’s The Beast, the character in last year’s blockbuster “Split” who has multiple personalities over a shattering glass.

The superhero horror-thriller is supposed to be the third installment in Shyamalan’s series following “Unbreakable” (2000) and “Split.” The film brings together the cast of Unbreakable such as Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Spencer Treat Clark, and Charlayne Woodard with that of Split including McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy. Sarah Paulson is also joining the film.

“Glass” is set for released on January 18, 2019. While we await for the full trailer, here is the film’s partial synopsis:

Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals—2000’s Unbreakable, from Touchstone, and 2016’s Split, from Universal—in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller: Glass.

From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.

Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Intense New Trailer for Peter Berg’s “Mile 22”

By Creative Media Times

Mark Wahlberg is back in action as STX Films releases a new red-band trailer for “Mile 22,” his latest collaboration with Peter Berg.

The two clearly work very well together, having previously collaborated three times in Deepwater Horizon (2016), Patriots Day (2016), and Lone Survivor (2013).

With Wahlberg playing a badass intelligence officer, the film looks is incredibly violent, perhaps a fitting film to slot a late summer release, a strategy that worked well with The Bourne Identity film franchise.

The upcoming thriller also stars Lauren Cohan, Iko Uwais, Ronda Rousey and John Malkovich. “Mile 22” is set for release on August 30, 2018.

Here is the film’s official synospsis:

In a visceral modern thriller from the director of Lone Survivor, Mark Wahlberg stars as James Silva, an operative of the CIA’s most highly-prized and least-understood unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva must retrieve and transport an asset who holds life-threatening information to Mile 22 for extraction before the enemy closes in.

Timothee Chalamet Battles Addiction In “Beautiful Boy” Trailer

By Creative Media Times

Amazon Studios

“You think you have this under control,” Carell tells his son Chalamet. “This is not you, Nic. This is not you.”

Amazon Studios has released an official trailer for the upcoming drug addiction tearjerker “Beautiful Boy.” Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carell team up as father and son in what is expected to be an awards season contender.

Though it appears that the film is focused on the father-son relationship, fans of “The Office” should also be delighted that the film co-stars Amy Ryan, a reunion of some sorts with Carell who appeared together in the hit TV series. Maura Tierney also co-stars.

The biographical drama is based on the pair of memoirs from father and son David Sheff and Nic Sheff on the family’s struggles with Nic’s meth addition over many years.

Carell last appeared in an Amazon produced movie last year called “Last Flag Flying” which received generally positive reviews but didn’t get much attention at the boxoffice.

Chalamet of course had a big year last year with his star turn in Luca Guadagnino’s “Call Me by Your Name” which won him noinations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and BAFTA Award for Best Actor.

Directed by Felix Van Groeningen from a screenplay written by Luke Davies, Amazon Studios is set to release Beautiful Boy in cinemas on an awards-season slot of October 12.

Focus Features

Last week has been good for horror fans with the surprising success of Hereditary at the boxoffice and the release of intense new trailer for the latest Halloween installment. The fun continues this week with the release of a spooky new trailer for “The Little Stranger,” the gothic horror from Irish film director and screenwriter Lenny Abrahamson.

The ghost story stars Domhnall Gleeson as Dr. Faraday, who is called to the dilapidated mansion Hundreds Hall to investigate some mysterious and inexplicable events. The film is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by author Sarah Waters.

Based on the director’s recent success directing “Room,” the multiple oscar nominated film (including one for Brie Larson’s as female lead), the The Little Stranger could be another winner. Not to mention Gleeson’s work has always been exceptional. The Irish born actor recently appeared as General Hux in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Also released is a bizarre new poster featuring a crumbling profile of Dr. Faraday, revealing blank cement underneath. “These Delusions Are Contagious,” the poster says.

Focus Features is set to release “The Little Stranger” on August 31, 2018.

Here is the film’s synopsis:

Dr. Faraday, the son of a housemaid, builts a life of quiet respectability as a country doctor. During the long hot summer of 1948, he is called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall has been home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. But it is now in decline and its inhabitants – mother, son, and daughter – are haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life. When he takes on his new patient, Faraday has no idea how closely, and how disturbingly, the family’s story is about to become entwined with his own.
