Gal Gadot and Chris Pine Returns In First Trailer For ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

By Creative Media Times

Warner Bros. has unveiled the very first trailer for “Wonder Woman 1984,” sequel to the hugely successful 2017’s film “Wonder Woman.”

Wonder Woman travels to the 80s, as the title suggests, decades away from the World War I setting of the 2017 original and shows Diana Prince reuniting with Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor.

Not a lot of details has been released so far but here’s what Warner Bros has to say about the film so far: “Diana Prince comes into conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the 1980s and finds a formidable foe by the name of the Cheetah.”

The new trailer gives us a first look at Kristen Wiig’s an archaeologist turned villainous Cheetah as well as tycoon Maxwell Lord played by Pedro Pascal.

Also released as series of character posters that offer our best looks yet at some of the movie’s core characters, including Kristen Wiig as Barbara Anne Minerva, The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal as Max Lord and the return of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. (see below).

Director Patty Jenkins also returns to helm. Wonder Woman 1984 is set for release in theaters June 5, 2020.

Marvel Opens The Door To A New Magical Saga With Strange Academy

Through its history, the Marvel Universe has seen magic rise and fall to warp minds, control the future, and even destroy the very fabric of reality. Now, magic has changed and is more powerful – and dangerous – than ever, and Doctor Strange is forced to do what he’s avoided for decades: he’s opened a school for young sorcerers…but as they will soon learn, magic always comes at a cost. Welcome to STRANGE ACADEMY.

Announced by the Associated Press, STRANGE ACADEMY will launch this March as a new ongoing series helmed by best-selling comic book veterans: Eisner Award-winning writer Skottie Young (Deadpool, Rocket Raccoon) and critically acclaimed artist Humberto Ramos (Amazing Spider-Man, Champions). The new series will bring together a whole new class of students from Earth, Weirdworld, Asgard, the Dark Dimension, and beyond to learn how to control their gifts in the Mystic Arts under Doctor Strange, Brother Voodoo, The Ancient One, Scarlet Witch, Magik, Hellstrom, and all of Marvel’s most iconic magicians. But with a new threat looming on the horizon, is it too late?

“What we’re really trying to do is tell those classic coming of age stories that we’ve seen in so many other properties or other projects out there in the world whether it be TV or film or novels or comics,” Young told the AP. “Whether it’s kids running around mazes or kids at a magic school or people running around trying to survive a post-apocalyptic landscape.”

First “Black Widow” Trailer Features The Character’s Long Awaited Solo Movie

By Creative Media Times

After a long wait since her introduction to the MCU franchise in Iron Man 2 (2010), Natasha Romanoff’s standalone movie is almost here, with Marvel Studios releasing the film’s first trailer today. Scarlett Johansson returns to play the character with Cate Shortland directing.

The thrilling new trailer is heavy on action and delves into Romanoff’s past. “Nothing lasts forever,” Black Widow, a.k.a. Natasha Romanoff says. “I’ve lived a lot of lives, but I’m done running from my past.”

Given what transpired in this year’s blockbuster juggernaut Avengers:Endgame, the film takes place during the period of time between “Captain America: Civil War” where the Avengers split in two teams battling each other, and last year’s “Avengers: Infinity War.”

The footage also features Yelena (played by Florence Pugh), a character referred to as Romanoff’s sister-figure and also uses the name “Black Widow” in the comics. We also see the rest of her assassin family such as Russian super-soldier Red Guardian (David Harbour) and seasoned spy Melina (Rachel Weisz).

Black Widow is set for release in theaters on May 1, 2020.

Both “Birds of Prey” and “The Suicide Squad” Expected To Be R-Rated

By Creative Media Times

After the massive success of “Joker,” its probably not that surprising for WB/DC’s upcoming comic cook films to take the same path. As Variety reports, “Birds of Prey” and “The Suicide Squad” are expected to the be Rated R.

“In the case of Birds of Prey, the film won’t be in the pitch-black, grim vein of Joker,” says the article. “Insiders describe the film has a more humorous, spirited, girl gang adventure, albeit not one for younger children. A series of recent reshoots dramatically improved test screening results and the studio is confident Birds of Prey will be a hit when it opens in February.”

Although “Logan” and the “Deadpool” films were released with such restricted ratings, Hollywood superhero blockbusters have largely avoided it. During the past two months however, Joker proved to be a strong precedent for filmmakers to appeal to more adult audiences, earning over $1 billion worldwide and emerged as a strong contender for the upcoming awards season.

Birds of Prey, directed by Cathy Yan, is set for release on February 7, 2020, while The Suicide Squad sequel from James Gunn will be released on August 6, 2021.

Robert E. Howard’s Dark Agnes Sharpens Her Sword For New Solo Series

Announced today at MCM Comic Con London, Robert E. Howard’s swashbuckling heroine, Dark Agnes, will helm her very first comic series. Dark Agnes will be making her Marvel Comics debut this December in CONAN: SERPENT WAR, introducing this beloved swordswoman to a new generation of readers, before taking off on her own adventures in February’s DARK AGNES #1.

The five-issue limited series will depict the journey of Agnes de Chastillon as she frees herself from an arranged marriage to live the dangerous life of a sellsword in 16th-century France. Joined by Etienne Villers, the mercenary pair’s daring exploits will be penned by writer Becky Cloonan(THE PUNISHER) with art by Luca Pizzari(WEAPON X, BLACK KNIGHT).

“I wouldn’t be surprised if you told me you’d never heard of Dark Agnes. Well, that’s about to change,” says Cloonan. “Agnes is the unsung anti-hero of Robert E. Howard’s legendary body of work. She’s a swashbuckling, musket wielding, doublet wearing bad ass swordswoman from the early Renaissance. A fierce warrior, a stalwart friend, and a brutal, unrelenting force in a bloody, chaotic world. Agnes is just as relevant today as she was when Howard dreamed her up, and as she is in her own time: the filthy 1500’s. Join us for a tale of mystery, adventure, and revenge!”
