Tom Hardy to lead in Sony’s “Venom” movie

By Creative Media Times

“Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer is also set to direct the Spider-man spinoff. Sony Pictures took to Twitter to post the announcement and start of production this fall, with a picture of Hardy himself wearing a Venom shirt.

The English actor was last involved in a comic book movie in 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” where he played another supervillain Bane. He recently reunited with that film’s director Christopher Nolan for this July’s “Dunkirk”.

Similarly, this is not the first time that Venom’s character is getting a cinematic treatment. He was the main villain in 2007’s Spider-Man, where he was played by Topher Grace.

In the comics, the character debuted in 1998’s The Amazing Spider-Man #300. Originally conceived as a supervillain, the symbiote sentient alien character has since evolved into an antihero. David S. Goyer originally planned a similar motion picture production before the film rights went to Sony.

According to Exhibitor Relations, Venom is slated for October 5, 2018 release.

The BET Awards, which will be held for this present year June 25 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, discharged the designations Monday (May 15). Maybe one of the greatest storylines of the night will be the Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma quarrel.

In spite of the fact that Remy Ma as of late guaranteed that the “dust has settled,” she will go up against the authoritative champion for the title of Best Female Hip Hop Artist. Nicki Minaj has won the honor each year since 2010. Prior to her run, the Terror Squad vet did make a case for the title. Other ladies incorporated into the class this year are Missy Elliott, Young M.A, and Cardi B.

Beyoncé drives all chosen people with seven gestures. Queen Bey is up for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and twice for Best Collaboration with Kendrick Lamar for “Freedom” and DJ Khaled’s “Shinning” with her better half Jay Z. She’s likewise designated for Video of the Year for “Sorry,” which gave her a gesture for Video Director of the Year close by Kahlil Joseph. Her widely praised LEMONADE collection is up for Album of the Year.

Chance The Rapper is up for four honors, including Album of the Year for “Coloring Book”, and Best New Artist where he’ll go up against Cardi B, Young M.A, Khalid, and 21 Savage.

This August, writer Matt Owens (Elektra) will team with artist Denys Cowan (Nighthawk, Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers) to unveil the exciting story of one of the Jedi’s greatest warriors in STAR WARS: JEDI OF THE REPUBLIC – MACE WINDU #1.

One of the most accomplished and storied members of the Jedi High Council, his wisdom and combat prowess are legendary. Now, in this new story, readers will get to see Mace Windu lead his Jedi into battle…and face the ultimate test of leadership.

“No matter how well trained for battle the Jedi are, having to actually put those skills to use is another thing entirely. The preferred tools of the Jedi are diplomacy, harmony, education, peace. Now they find themselves leading troops on battlefields across the galaxy,” said series writer Matt Owens. “They’re going to have a lot of thoughts about this. Is this really the way to peace? Review: Chainsmokers’ Memories Do Not Open Tour

By Armando

The Chainsmokers

Last year was a career highlight for The Chainsmokers. After building a fan base and mainstream pop success with “#Selfie” and “Roses”, the duo hit it big with “Don’t Let Me Down” and “Closer”, a one-two punch at the charts that brought the duo worldwide success and a Grammy Award. So it’s only expected that this tour will follow through. Based on the reception of the crowd last night, the timing is just right.

The Chainsmokers, an EDM-pop duo consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, performed their chart hits Tuesday night in front of the loud crowd, albeit predominantly teenage girls, amid elaborate lighting and stage production at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK.

It was a very tight show full of flames, pyrotechnics, giant screens, rising stage, and multiple set designs. They seamlessly mixed live band performance with the club atmosphere of the stage. There is always something happening to entertain a generally young hype-active crowd, and kept their energy high throughout the night. I admit some of their cheesy choreography were out of left field boy-band moments. But there is no deep existential meaning to it: you come to their show to enjoy their music, leave your snotty attitude at the door, have fun and that’s what they delivered.

The show was complex with various stage changes, but well executed down to the tee, leaving little impromptu and audience interaction. The artists felt bigger than life and distant even from the front row. Towards the end of the show Andrew did run across down the stage to hi-five the fans. He also played multiple instruments throughout the night, suggesting he might be more than just the vocals of the act. He filled in for Chris Martin for “Something Just Like This”. Martin will probably show up in a few venues, but Tulsa wasn’t as lucky. It was also Alex Pall’s birthday (24th, according to Taggard, jokingly). With the sold out show in Tulsa and the upcoming Billboard Music Awards, for which they are the top nominee, the duo has plenty to celebrate.

After seeing the show, there is no denying that the Chainsmokers is at the top of their game. It was a big, entertaining and spectacular show fitting for the hot artist of the moment, and crowd reciprocated in kind. They successfully crossed over from their EDM roots to mainstream pop, a tricky formula to get right. As with many artists who break out into music stardom, they received somewhat of a post-Closer backlash after their debut album received mixed to negative reviews. But last night, that didn’t seem to matter.

The Chainsmokers is currently on a North American tour in support of their album, “Memories…Do Not Open”. American DJ Whethan opened the show followed by special guest “Kiiara” and featured Emily Warren on vocals throughout the night.

Final Trailer For “War For The Planet Of The Apes”

By Creative Media times

War For The Planet Of The Apes

It looks like director Matt Reeves has another winner. The final trailer for his’ “War For The Planet Of The Apes” has been released by 20th Century Fox, and it is bold and thrilling. So far, this is the most action-packed trailer of the movie as the studio gears up for it’s release.

The trailer shows humans and apes prepare for a direct confrontation as the ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson) plots to exterminate the apes. “Years from now, your children will ask what you did in the greatest war and you can tell them I fought to protect this world.”

This is Reeves’ second film in the series after “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” which was a critical and commercial hit, grossing more than $700 million globally. Last October, it was reported that the fourth film in the ‘Apes’ series is already in the works.

“War for the Planet of the Apes” arrives in theaters on July 14.

Ludi Lin Joins James Wan’s Aquaman Cast

Creative Media Times

Ludi Lin By iDominick

Although James Wan announced two weeks ago that Aquaman has already started shooting, casting for some of the major roles are still underway. According to Deadline, up and comer Ludi Lin is set to play Murk in James Wan’s Aquaman.

This is of course not the first time that Lin played a superhero. Most recently, he was Zack/Black Ranger in the action sci-fi “Power Rangers”. Although Power Rangers was somewhat a minor hit a few months ago, it did debut at the boxoffice above expectations, and gave Lin sufficient of exposure.

In Aquaman, he is joining a star studded cast including Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundren, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, and Jason Momoa who plays the title character.

Murk is a relatively new side character in the universe of Aquaman. He is a military leader for Atlantis’ Men-of-War who serves Aquaman. As such, the extent of his role in the film is still unknown.

Aquaman is set to be released in December 21, 2018.
