Max the dog and the gang are back in action “The Secret Life of Pets 2” and today, Illumination Entertainment has released the film’s first trailer.

Though not much info is revealed regarding the plot, the sequel seem to follow up the events of the 2016 film. This time, we see Max taking a good stroll in town only to realize that they’re visiting the vet. “You tricked me!,” he protested.

“We love our pets, but how well do we really know them?,” the trailer asks. And while inside the room, he encounters some very interesting pet patients.

The original Secret Life of Pets film was a global blockbuster back in 2016, grossing $875 million worldwide on a reasonably tight $75 million budget.

Illumination is sure to continue its hit streak after four very successful Despicable Me films, including the spin-off film Minions.

Helmed by the original’s director Chris Renaud, the film brings back writer Brian Lynch, and the cast reprising their roles, such as Eric Stonestreet as Duke the mongrel who lives with Max, Jenny Slate as Gidget the Pomeranian and Max’s girlfriend, Kevin Hart as Snowball the rabbit and former flushed pet, Lake Bell as Chloe the tabby cat and one of Max’s friends.

The animated film is set for release on June 7, 2019.
