The First Trailer and Poster for the reboot of The Mummy

By AICreative Media

This week, Universal unveiled a poster and a teaser for a full trailer coming out on Sunday. So this is a teaser of a teaser which is becoming more and more commonplace with summer blockbusters lately.

Tom Cruise stars as Nick Morton, and although the nature of his character is still unknown, it appears that Cruise is embroiled in a reawakening of an ancient Egyptian princess. According to the The Mummy’s website movie synopsis: “..an ancient princess, whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day.”

But the most intriguing part of the trailer is the appearance of Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyl. You might have heard of Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe, a mash of action-adventure/horror films and the studio’s answer to Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe. It appears that Dr. Jekyl’s appearance lays the seeds of this series.

So far, the movie looks like a fun summer blockbuster: full of big stars, spectacular effects, and a scene of Cruise running.

The Mummy premieres on June 9th, so we can expect more trailers in the coming months.

While we’re at it, here’s some more clips of Tom Cruise sprinting:

Kevin Feige: ‘Avengers’, ‘X-Men’ Crossover Is an “Impossibility”

By AI Creative Media

Spider-Man might have crossed over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War this year, which prompted fan anticipation for possibility of a broader crossovers with X-Men and Fantastic Four sometime in the future like in the Marvel Comics.

Well, don’t get your hopes up. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige recently put an end to this speculation during a recent interview and makes it pretty clear that such crossover won’t happen anytime soon.

“It’s an impossibility at this juncture. We certainly have enough films to keep us busy for a number of lifetimes,” Feige stated during a recent interview with Variety.

Although film rights for the mutants of X-Men and the characters of Fantastic Four are owned by 20th Century Fox, many people from both Marvel and Fox camps have expressed interest in seeing them come together, such as MCU directors Russo Brothers and Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman.

In the meantime, we can all look forward to Logan, the next X-Men movie directed James Mangold, and Guardians Vol. 2 next year. Logan comes out March 2, followed shortly by Guardians Vol 2 on April 25.

Trailer for Martin Scorsese’s latest film ‘Silence’

By Armando

Between ‘Silence’ and the unexpected success of ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, it appears that Andrew Garfield is having a sensational year.

Based on Shusaku Endo’s 1966 novel about a Portuguese Jesuit priest persecuted in 17th century Japan, Silence is Martin Scorsese’s latest epic movie and it looks like another Oscar contender.

Considered “one of the twentieth century’s finest novels”, Endo’s original novel wrestles with themes of religious discrimination in Japan and racism in France. In 1971 the novel was adapted for the screen by Japanese director Masahiro Shinoda, and in 2007, Scorsese announced his intention to direct his own adaption, although its been reported that he really wanted to make ‘Silence’ long before that.

The trailer starts with lead Andrew Garfield’s Father Rodrigues and Adam Driver’s Father Garrpe conversing about a journey to find their mentor Father Ferreira, played by Liam Neeson. But this plan comes with Father Valignano’s (Ciarán Hinds) ominous warming: “The moment you set foot in that country, you step into high danger.” What follows is a collage of intense scenes of violence, religious imagery and executions.

‘Silence’ is primed for awards contention, as it opens in limited release on Dec.23, 2016, just in time for Oscar consideration, followed by expansion in early 2017. See ‘Silence’ trailer below:
