The 2019 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) were handed out on Wednesday night, and Drake dominated the ceremonies, taking home the Top Artist, Top male Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist trophies.
The haul effectively gives Drake the record for most wins, 27 total in the history of Billboard Music Awards.
Other big winners included Ariana Grande, Ella Mai, BTS, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Combs who took home Top Country Artist. Coming into the night, it was Cardi B led the nominations with 21 nods, was followed by Drake and Post Malone with 17 nominations each.
Mariah Carey received the Icon Award as well as performed a career-spanning set including her 2018 single “A No No”, and classics such as “Always Be My Baby”, “Emotions”, “We Belong Together” and “Hero”.
Presenters included Chrissy Metz & Justin Hartley, Cobie Smulders, Asher Angel, Becky G, Dave Bautista & Kumail Nanjiani, David Guetta, Florida Georgia Line, Jennifer Hudson, Erin & Sara Foster, Eva Longoria, Jesse Spencer, Julia Michaels, Julianne Hough, Kane Brown, Olivia Wilde, Beanie Feldstein & Kaitlyn Dever, Ralph Macchio, Rob Gronkowski, Ross Lynch & Kiernan Shipka, Sabrina Carpenter, Sophie Turner & Tye Sheridan, Terry Crews and William Zabka.
Kelly Clarkson was back to host the ceremonies, which aired live Wednesday night from Las Vegas on NBC.
