By Creative Media Times

The dynamic duo of Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson from “Thor: Ragnarok” are back, this time battling aliens in the first trailer for “Men in Black: International,” the upcoming science fiction action comedy from director Gary Gray (The Fate of the Furious, Straight Outta Compton).

The fourth movie in the hugely popular film franchise, the film is features the pair playing Agents H and M and protect Earth from alien shenanigans. The film re-imagines the series which first launched in the 90s minus original agents Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

There’s a hilarious reference to Hemsworth’s Thor character fans should notice here, one which show our hero throwing a small hammer to an alien.

Written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the film also sees Liam Neeson as the head of the Men In Black’s UK branch. Rebecca Ferguson, Emma Thompson, Rafe Spall, and Kumail Nanjiani also co-star.

Sony Pictures is set to release the film on June 14, 2019.

By Creative Media Times

Walt Disney Studios
Motion Pictures

Ever since the first trailer for “Aladdin” was released in October, people had been wondering about the look of Will Smith’s Genie. Now that has been revealed in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, right there on the cover. And he is not blue.

Judging by the cover, Smith will be in the film in full physical form and not in CGI, at least not completely. And though Smith’s look on the mag cover had surprised many fans, the Suicide Squad actor was quick to clarify it on twitter.

BAM!! First look at the Genie, Princess Jasmine, and #Aladdin! Check Me Rockin’ the Top Knot Ponytail Vibes in @entertainmentweekly. (and yes, I’m gonna be BLUE! 🙂 This is how the Genie is in Human / Disguise Form. My character will be CGI most of the movie.)

Also on the cover are Mena Massoud as the titular character, and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. Aladdin is the live-action remake of the 1992 animated film of the same name.

Similar to recent Disney remake Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin is set to feature songs from the animated 1992 original. That film’s soundtrack was created by composer Alan Menken and songwriters Tim Rice and the late Howard Ashman.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, who also wrote the screenplay with John August, the film also features new characters such as Prince Anders and Dalia that are set to be played by Billy Magnussen and Nasim Pedrad respectively.

“Aladdin” is set to be released on Nov. 24, 2019.

New “Shazam!” Posters Released

By Creative Media Times

“Just Say The Word”

Warner Bros. / DC

With the release of Aquaman on the horizon, Warner Bros wastes no time in reminding us of their other upcoming superhero film “Shazam!”.

The first poster, right, shows the fun and playful nature of the character, showing Shazam chilling with a cellphone and bubblegum. In case you are wondering, the poster is appropriate given that Shazam is in fact a teenage boy named Billy Batson.

Over at CCXP18 in Brazil, DC is hosting a special presentation for the film where star Zachary Levi is said to be in attendance. With it comes an exclusive Shazam! poster and it looks fantastic. Shown in a comic book style of illustration, the poster reminds fans of the fun tone of the movie. See poster below posted on DC Films United’s twitter account.

It is rumored that a brand new trailer could possibly surface at CCXP18. We will keep an eye on it.

Levi is of course playing the film’s titular superhero. Directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation) from a screenplay by Henry Gayden, the film co-stars Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer and Djimon Hounsou.

“Shazam” is set to storm into US theaters on April 19th, 2019. See the film’s first trailer below.

By Armando

Walt Disney Pictures.
Pixar Animation Studios

While powerhouses Disney and Pixar dominated in animation, 2018 has been another great year with the diverse list of offerings.

From Japanese animated fantasy “Mary and the Witch’s Flower” to live/action animated hybrid “Peter Rabbit”, 2018 has been a strong banner year for animation with plenty of choices for fans to choose from, not just from the big players, but also from smaller and independent animators around the world as well.

On Monday, the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, released the nominations for 46th Annual Annie Awards, with two animated sequels Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Ralph Breaks the Internet” topping the list, while Studio Chizu’s “Mirai” and Hungarian National Film Fund’s “Ruben Brandt, Collector” also had a good showing.

Also receiving plenty of love from ASIFA-Hollywood are Sony Pictures Animation’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” Aardman Animation’s “Early Man” and Wes Anderson’s “Isle of Dogs.”

The Annie Awards best feature has been a strong harbinger for the Oscars: the winner has gone on to win the corresponding Oscar animated feature category a total of 12 times since the academy created the category in 2002, the most recent of such scenario is last year Disney-Pixar’s Coco, which won the best animated feature at both the Oscars and Annie Awards.

Recognizing the best of the year in animation in film and television, the Annie Awards were originally conceived in 1972 and has since evolved in scope. For films to be considered, films must be released in the United States between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018.
