“Mission Impossible: Fallout” Poster And Teaser Released

By Creative Media Times

Paramount Pictures

After the title for the sixth installment in the Mission: Impossible film series was announced by star Tom Cruise last week, it’s only fitting to release the movie’s poster as well, as Paramount Pictures gears up the film’s promo ahead of the film’s big trailer debut on Sunday’s Super Bowl. A teaser for the film’s trailer also recently debuted online.

The poster shows a silhouette of Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt, masking a mountainous landscape with a helicopter and Hunt, true to character’s death defying stunts, dangling from a helicopter.

The teaser is series of quick cuts featuring the film’s cast, starting with Cruise’s Hunt walking through a door, and then walking alongside Isla Faust (Ferguson), followed by intense but still mysterious mustachioed villain August Walker (Henry Cavill) seemingly getting ready for a fistfight. We later see IMF Director Alan Hunley (Baldwin), Bassett’s mysterious character, Benji (Pegg) with Luther (Rhames) in fast action collages along with the icon theme playing in the background.

During filming, Cruise broke his ankle after a dangerous stunt gone awry, a stunt which involved Cruise leaping from one building to another. The injury shut down the film’s production for more than two months to allow the actor’s injury to heal. Here’s a footage of the insane stunt from Graham Norton Show which shows how the actor got injured. WARNING: As the host said, this is NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH.

The Mission: Impossible film franchise is one of the most successful of all-time, with a worldwide gross of over $2.7 billion to date. Judging by these new promotional materials, the film seem set to deliver some more crazy action this summer.

Directed by frequent Cruise collaborator Christopher McQuarrie, who previously helmed Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, Mission: Impossible – Fallout is scheduled for release on July 27, 2018.

New Trailer For Netflix’s “Mute” Is Enthralling

By Creative Media Times

Netflix

The fourth feature from director Duncan Jones following 2016’s Warcraft, 2011’s Source Code and 2009’s “Moon,” Netflix has released the latest trailer for its futuristic thriller “Mute.”

Described by Jones as a “spiritual sequel” to his 2009 feature debut “Moon,” the film stars Alexander Skarsgård as a mute bartender with a violent past, searching for his missing girlfriend Naadirah (Seyneb Saleh). Set in the futuristic underbelly of Berlin, the film also stars Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Justin Theroux (The Girl on the Train).

Jones has described Mute as being inspired by the 1982 classic sci-fi neo-noir film “Blade Runner.” “It’s a thriller with a very weird tone. It goes very dark, then it also goes very darkly funny. It’s science-fiction urban, so it certainly owes some of its influence to Blade Runner.”

Directed by Duncan Jones and written by Jones and Michael Robert Johnson, “Mute” is produced by Stuart Fenegan, while Charles J.D. Schissel and Trevor Beattie are executive producers. The film also features Seyneb Saleh, Ulf Herman, Gilbert Owuor, Daniel Fathers, and Noel Clarke.

“Mute” is set to premiere on Netflix on Feb. 23.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis courtesy of Netflix:

Berlin, the future, but close enough to feel familiar: In this loud, often brutal city, Leo (Alexander Skarsgård) – unable to speak from a childhood accident – searches for his missing girlfriend, the love of his life, his salvation, through dark streets, frenzied plazas, and the full spectrum of the cities shadow-dwellers. As he seeks answers, Leo finds himself mixed up with Cactus Bill (Paul Rudd) and Duck (Justin Theroux), a pair of irreverent US army surgeons on a mission all their own. This soulful sci-fi journey from filmmaker Duncan Jones (
Moon, Source Code, Warcraft) imagines a world of strange currencies in which echoes of love and humanity are still worth listening to.

New Action-Packed “Pacific Rim Uprising” Trailer Plus New Poster!

By Creative Media Times

Universal Pictures

Returning Kaiju means action galore, and in the latest Pacific Rim Uprising trailer, released by Legendary Pictures on Wednesday, there is no shortage of monster versus giant mech smackdown.

“How did they get into our world?” asks Jake Pentecost (son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost from the first Pacific Rim). “Someone let them in,” returning character Dr. Gottlieb replies. “Someone from our world.”

While the first trailer focused more on Boyega’s character, this new one shows more details about the story, a new human landscape since the initial attack, some jaeger vs. jaeger action, and more importantly a kaiju-jaeger hybrid. Surprise!

To hype the new trailer, Universal Pictures and Legendary also released a brand new poster for Pacific Rim Uprising.

Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) took over the reins as director after Guillermo del Toro stepped aside to focus on The Shape of Water, a decision that clearly paid off given its current multiple awards run. Del Toro is credited for the story.

‘Uprising’ picks up ten years after the events of the Battle of the Breach in the The 2013 original, when the Jaeger program has become a powerful global defense force, and the Pan Pacific Defense Corps calls upon a new generation of elite fighters against Kaiju threat.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s John Boyega is trading starships for Jaegers in the sequel as Jake, while Scott Eastwood is his partner Jaeger pilot Nate Lambert. Joining Boyega and Eastwood are Pacific Rim alums Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, and Burn Gorman.

Pacific Rim: Uprising is scheduled to stomp into theaters on March 23, 2018.

Guillermo del Toro’s lavish romantic fantasy “The Shape of Water” dominated 2018 Oscar nominations, earning 13 nods including best picture, best director and best actress for star Sally Hawkins, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday morning.

Not far behind were “Dunkirk” with eight nominations, and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” with seven.

Lara Croft Fights To Survive In “Tomb Raider” Trailer

By Creative Media Times

Warner Bros. Pictures

Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for its upcoming action-adventure film “Tomb Raider,” giving audiences a closer look at Alicia Vikander’s athletic video game heroine Lara Croft getting down to business in her run for survival.

Unlike the previous trailer, the new footage shows more focus on the character’s legacy, her family and her past while looking for answers about the death of her father.

Vikander has taken on action films in the past with “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” and “Jason Bourne,” as well as the science fiction thriller “Ex Machina” which won her nominations at the Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards for Best Supporting Actress. The Swedish actress received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the painter Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl.

Directed by Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug, the film also features Daniel Wu, Walton Goggins, Hannah John-Kamen as Sophie, Antonio Aakeel and Dominic West.

A reboot of the film franchise that originally starred Angeline Jolie as Lara, Tomb Raider is set to be released in March 16, 2018.

Here is Tomb Raider’s full synopsis:

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.

Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name tomb raider.

New Trailer For Jason Momoa’s Latest “Braven”

By Creative Media Times

Saban Films

Momoa is back to being a tough guy in the latest action-packed trailer for “Braven.”

The trailer shows Joe Braven (Momoa) and his father (Stephen Lang) go to their remote hunting cabin during a presumably relaxing getaway with his family. But things went bad fast when they found out that drugs were hidden by traffickers in the cabin.

When the heavily armed bad guys descent upon the cabin, it is now up to Braven to stand his ground and defend his family in any way possible.

The film seem like a good old fashioned action-thriller filled with shootouts, fistfights and Momoa’s axe throwing prowess, elements that has come to define Momoa career lately.

Directed by Lin Oeding, from the script by Mike Nilon and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, “Braven” is scheduled for release February 2, 2018. Momoa produced the film with Nilon, Brian Mendoza and Molly Hassell. Also in the film are Garret Dillahunt, Jill Wagner and Brendan Fletcher.

The actor is going to have a hectic 2018. The former Game of Thrones actor is set to appear later this year in what may be the biggest project of his career, director James Wan’s Aquaman, based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
