Paul Hogan is back on TV poking fun at wrestling

By Armando

Watch WWE Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan save the day once again in a strange yet fun new commercial created by advertising agency DDB & Tribal Worldwide Amsterdam for Dutch insurance company Centraal Beheer, the largest insurance company in the Netherlands. The Hulkster appears as himself in the commercial, which is the 60th in Beheer’s “Just Call Us”, a campaign that has been running for 30 years.

Appropriately titled “The Hulk”, the bizarre new TV spot shows a family enjoying the day and taking pictures at the pier when suddenly a thief snatches the mother’s bag. In comes Hogan, stopping the thief before he get away. He then pulls his punches, yet does the bad guy no harm by missing his target by a few inches and his signature wrestling moves not connecting, a sequence that seem to poke fun at professional wrestling’s dramatized athletic performance and world of make-believe.

Not exactly the comeback his fans are expecting. But its a light and fun commercial for Hogan, who was disgraced back in 2015 and has been absent from American wrestling for a couple of years.

Trailer: Terrence Malick’s Song to Song

By AI Creative Media

Terrence Malick’s all-star ensemble drama Song to Song, set against the backdrop of the Austin music scene, has revealed its first trailer ahead of its SXSW debut.

According to it’s official synopsis, Song to Song is a “modern love story set against the Austin, Texas music scene, two entangled couples – struggling songwriters Faye (Rooney Mara) and BV (Ryan Gosling), and music mogul Cook (Michael Fassbender) and the waitress whom he ensnares (Natalie Portman) – chase success through a rock ‘n’ roll landscape of seduction and betrayal.

Though that might sound slightly familiar to a recent Gosling critical and commercial hit, production of Song to Song was actually announced in November 2011, was originally titled “Lawless”, and Malick began shooting in 2012.

Song to Song will have its world premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) on March 10, before opening in NYC and Los Angeles on March 17, 2017. Broad Green Pictures is releasing the movie. Broad Green also released the poster for the film on Friday (right).

Chance the Rapper: Chicago’s Independent, Grammy Award Winning Superstar

By: Shane Brooks

If you were watching the 59th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night then you witnessed history being made. Last year, the Recording Academy changed their rules on Grammy eligibility to allow streaming-only releases to be considered for the award.

This allowed young artist Chance the Rapper to be nominated for seven Grammys, of which he took home three in one historic night. Chance was awarded for Best Rap Album, Best New Artist, and Best Rap Performance. The 23-year-old Chicago rapper beat out artists such as Kanye West, a fellow Chicago native, and his album The Life of Pablo, Drake’s Views and De LaSoul’s and the Anonymous Nobody.

Chance punctuated his triumphant night with a highly spirited live performance of his songs “How Great” and “All We Got” from his “Coloring Book” mixtape. “Coloring Book” was released in May of last year and it became the first streaming-only album to chart on the Billboard 200, opening in the top 10.

Some films seemed destined to land among the contenders for best visual effects – like those big-budget offerings from Marvel or the Star Wars franchise. This year, along with Dr. Strange and Rogue One, Kubo and the Two Strings has earned a nomination for Best Visual Effects.

Also nominated for Best Animated Feature, Kubo is the first animated film to be nominated for Best Visual Effects in decades, and the production has received widespread recognition for its use of stop motion animation. Steve Emerson, visual effects supervisor for the film, spoke to reporters by phone from his home base in Portland, Oregon.

This is Emerson’s first Oscar nomination, but he says he has not had a moment to think about a speech. He describes for the group the moment he found out:

It was five in the morning, woke up and was drinking coffee, watching the streaming with my wife and my son.
