Lady Gaga takes the stage with Bradley Cooper in the first look trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures’ “A Star Is Born,” a remake of the 1937 eponymous classic film.

“I don’t sing my own songs. I just don’t feel comfortable. Almost every single person has told me they like the way I sounded but they didn’t like the way I look,” ,” Ally (Gaga) tells Jackson (Cooper) in the trailer.

The film is Gaga’s big screen debut as a lead and Cooper’s first as a director. Cooper also co-wrote the script with Will Fetters and Eric Roth. Gaga previously had a minor role in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (2014), and major role in the TV series American Horror Story: Hotel for which she won a Golden Globe.

Part of the film was shot last year during Coachella. Original songs were also composed for the film, some of which was teased in the trailer, including a snippet of “The Shallow” which was co-penned by Mark Ronson, Gaga’s collaborator in her Joanne album.

This marks the third remake of the original 1937 film: the first was in 1954 which starred Judy Garland and James Mason, then again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

“A Star is Born” is set to hit theaters October 5.
