By Creative Media Times

Roma (Netflix), The Favorite (Fox Searchlight)

Although Alfonso Cuarón’s black and white family drama “Roma” won best film and best director (for Cuarón), it was “The Favourite” that went home with the most Baftas trophies, among them Outstanding British film and Best Actress to its lead Olivia Colman.

The acclaimed early 18th century period drama from director Yorgos Lanthimos received seven awards in total.

Also solidifying his march to Oscars is Rami Malek, who won Best Actor for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Malek recently won the same at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
