A new trailer for the surefire summer blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises was released Monday night — and Batman’s superfans worked hard to get it. (Watch the video below.) As part of a buzz-driving marketing campaign for the final installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, Warner Brothers announced the trailer on the film’s website, telling fans that to see it, they had to help the Gotham City Police Department locate Batman by tracking down hundreds of pieces of graffiti from around the world. For every piece of graffiti that a fan found and tagged on social media, Warner Brothers unlocked a frame of the trailer.

MIT students turn whole building into huge game of Tetris

The two-hundred and ninety-five feet (ninety meter) tall Building 54 on MIT’s Cambridge campus has become the canvas for a number of carefully planned and daringly executed visual displays over the years, not strictly allowed by the administration but often looked upon with some appreciation. The building is home to the Institute’s Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Science (EAPS) and has a host of meteorological instruments and radio communications equipment on its roof – but its the grid-like windows to the front that have become the main attraction to hackers, as they are known. The latest hack is the successful realization of a long-standing challenge, a huge playable game of Tetris.
New Orleans concert marks International Jazz Day

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — As the morning sun spilled over the New Orleans’ skyline Monday, jazz musicians Herbie Hancock, Ellis Marsalis and others kicked off International Jazz Day with a sunrise concert that included ritual drumming and a string of performances, a day that culminated in the evening with a grand all-star concert at the United Nations.
In the morning, trumpeters Terence Blanchard and Kermit Ruffins, singer Stephanie Jordan and others performed “On the Sunny Side of the Street” and “Afro Blue” as the sun rose on Congo Square, an area near the French Quarter neighborhood where slaves once gathered on Sundays to play music.

The days grow longer and the weather (for the most part) warmer, and tomorrow is May, which means the sweet, sweet easy times of summer are soon upon us. This is, for the most part, great news. But there is one terrible thing happening as everything else gets good: TV shows are ending. Yes, network seasons are wrapping up, meaning soon there will be so little to watch. For example, The Good Wife, smart sudsy show that it is, ended its third season last night. We’re gonna miss it!
