A bad first date is one thing. Getting pulled into a world of corrupt cops and stolen money is another.

“The Lonely Crowd,” the feature debut from writer-director David St. Clair, follows Peter and Ashley, two people who meet through a dating app and immediately clash. Gender assumptions, frustration, and defensiveness kill the vibe fast. Ashley storms out. But when Peter finds her being harassed outside later that night, he steps in, and things spiral into a three-day whirlwind of crime, violence, and unexpected romance.

The film stars Adam Wesley and Taylor Anne Danehower, with a cast that includes Giancarlo Carmona, Jon Oshei, Haley Spencer, Blair Chambers, and Andrew Mena.

St. Clair says the story is rooted in something real. “Beneath the suspense lies a story about what happens when people see each other as stereotypes rather than individuals,” he explains. “Romance isn’t fantasy here, it’s forged in the clash of loneliness, pride, fear, and misunderstanding.”

“The Lonely Crowd” debuted on Amazon in May 2026 and is now available on YouTube, Tubi, and Fawesome, with more platforms coming soon. Indie Rights picked up worldwide distribution.

This is the first feature from Desario Productions, founded by David St. Clair and producer Jim St. Clair. The crew includes composer Kevin Morrison, cinematographer Garrett Stotko, and editor Daniel Seigerman.
