A family fights for survival in a lawless wasteland.

Lionsgate drops “Battle Cabin” on digital platforms today, a post-apocalyptic action thriller set in a world where civilization has collapsed. The film follows Kellan, a man forced to leave his secure compound to rescue his wife, only to face off against violent thieves tied to his past.

Josh McKenzie (“The Hunting Party,” “La Brea”) leads the cast alongside Delaney Tabron (“Northspur”), Michael Hurst (“Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”), and Kali Kopae (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”). “Stranger Things” and “Evil Dead Rise” actor Nell Fisher rounds out the ensemble.

Director Aaron Falvey and writer Justin Eade shot the film back in 2022. The story centers on a global attack that wipes out electricity and government, leaving survivors to fend for themselves in a brutal new reality. Kellan’s only hope is forming an uneasy alliance with a battle-hardened warrior.

The R-rated thriller clocks in at 100 minutes and leans into its violent, high-stakes premise. For indie filmmakers and action fans, it’s another entry in the scrappy post-apocalyptic genre, this time with a New Zealand production team behind it.
