Focus Features Has Acquired Rights To Jeff Nichols’ “The Bikeriders”

Jeff Nichols’ motorcycle ensemble feature drama has sold to Focus Features, THR has reported.

The film was originally scheduled by Disney and 20th Century to open on Dec. 1, 2023, but was removed by New Regency form the release calendar in October during the actors’ strike. No specific release date has yet been released.

“We are delighted to add such a riveting project to next year’s strong slate of films. We look forward to once again working alongside New Regency and reuniting with the multi-talented Jeff Nichols on another one of his visionary projects,” said Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski in a statement.

Focus Features 2024 slate includes comedy road film directed by Ethan Coen “Drive-Away Dolls”, horror comedy film written by Diablo Cody “Lisa Frankenstein”, Robert Eggers gothic horror film “Nosferatu”, Goran Stolevski drama “Housekeeping for Beginners”, and Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Amy Winehouse biopic “Back to Black”,

The Bikeriders recently premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023 and received positive reviews.
