Danny Elfman To Compose ‘Justice League’ Score

By Armando

Warner Bros. Pictures

Following Zack Snyder’s departure from his directorial duties in May 2017 and Joss Whedon’s involvement to the project, Justice League is getting another radical reorg: according to a report from Hollywood Reporter, Danny Elfman is set to score this November’s Justice League.

With Elfman previously having worked with Whedon on ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, this news reinforce just how important the relationship and chemistry of a director and composer in creating the final product.

He is certainly not new to the genre, more specifically to DC Comics, having previously scored ‘Batman’ (1989) where he won a Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, as well as it’s sequel Batman Returns (1992). Elfman is a long-time collaborator of Tim Burton. In addition to Batman, they also worked together in Beetlejuice (1987), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Planet of the Apes (2001) among others.

Among his other high-profile work include Mission: Impossible (1995), Men in Black (1997), Spider-Man (2002), and most recently this year in Fifty Shades Darker and The Circle.

This makeover means Elfman is replacing Antonius Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL), who himself replaced Hans Zimmer. Holkenborg was co-composer for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” along with Zimmer, who stated last year that he is done composing for superhero films.

“As my mentor Hans Zimmer told me: you haven’t made it in Hollywood as a composer until you get replaced on a project,” said Holkenborg on a recent Twitter post. “So I guess I finally graduated this week. It pains me to leave the project, but a big thanks to Zack for asking me to be part of his vision, and I wish Danny, Joss, and Warner Bros. all the best with Justice League.”

This would be an interesting and significant shift of DCEU’s score in general, the tone of which began with Man of Steel and continued with Batman V Superman. Re-shoots and additional photography of Justice League is currently underway.

Justice League is scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017.

By: Melgie Claire

Sean Combs by Reckless Dream Photography

It has never been less demanding to end up insta-popular, however, for a few famous people, notoriety and fortune are lasting. Take Diddy: Nearly twenty years in the wake of showing up on the front of the first historically speaking Celebrity 100 issue, it might come as an astonishment to a few, however rapper turned businessman P Diddy was the world’s top worker on Forbes’ rundown of the 100 most paid celebrity in the previous year, beating Beyonce.

Diddy tops FORBES’ yearly positioning of the most noteworthy earning entertainers on the planet. Diddy earned $130 million in the previous 12 months.

Diddy – whose genuine name is Sean Combs and prior in his vocation was known as Puff Daddy – is assessed to be valued a sum of $820 million despite the fact that he has made a little music in the past 10 years.

Be that as it may, he has sought after a range of business interests and a year ago featured a North American field tour with different singers on his Bad Boy Records label.

2 Live Crew Film Being Developed at Lionsgate

By Creative Media Times

by Luther Campbell (Author)

Lionsgate is developing the biopic of 2 Live Crew, The Book Of Luke, reports Deadline. The script will be an adaptation of ‘Book of Luke: My Fight for Truth, Justice and Liberty City’, an autobiography of the leader of the rap group Luther Campbell.

Campbell, who was once a concert promoter in Miami, ran Luke Skywalker Records (later Luke Records after Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas sued) in the mid 80s. He later served as The 2 Live Crew’s manager and lead vocalist, while also giving the group a record label.

The book itself is about Campbell’s beginnings in Miami and his eventual fame and fortune. The book tells the story of how he “invented Southern Hip-Hop, saved the First Amendment, and became a role model for his disenfranchised Miami neighborhood.”

According to Deadline, the film will be some sort of “Straight Outta Compton meets The People Vs. Larry Flynt”. Campbell was party to a landmark copyright law case related to one of 2 Live Crew’s songs which includes a parody of Roy Orbison’s “Oh, Pretty Woman”. U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Campbell, establishing as a result that commercial parody can qualify as fair use.

RJ Cyler, who recently played Blue Ranger Billy in Power Rangers, will play Campbell in the film.

Shakira- El Dorado, and touching on new sounds

By Niy Birden

Sony Latin

It has been 3 years since Shakira’s last album. Since then, she has collaborated with fellow mega-superstar Rihanna, stood powerfully like the Latin goddess she is while her wedding dress was on fire, and given birth to her second baby. While her last album was a rock, country, reggae, pop and slightly-latin combination of tracks, her new album El Dorado reminds us yet again that she is undeniably, a Latin artist-a dance one at that.

Caribbean drums and electric rhythms set the entire tone of El Dorado. It starts off with the muffled, electric guitar riffs of “Me Enamoré”, which as described by Shakira “This song narrates a moment in my life when I was so in love that I was literally climbing trees”, referring to her current partner Gerard Pique. Another noticeable detail in the song is the use of 808 kits, also known as “Dirty
South” beats or “Trap” beats.

But this isn’t a new thing for Shaki. Shakira has always incorporated modern hip hop styles into her music, which can be seen from her 2009 album, She Wolf, more specifically in the song “Give It Up To Me”, which features prominent hip hop artists Lil’ Wayne and Timbaland.

El Dorado proceeds on with “Nada”, a rock ballad with such strong piano playing that youcan almost imagine her playing it to her usual thousands of fans. The album then hits an interesting point with “Chantaje”, her first collab of the album with fellow Columbian artist Maluma, which makes it her first collaboration-ever with another Columbian musician.

Full ‘Baby Driver’ Soundtrack Revealed

By Armando

Baby Driver. TriStar Pictures

One of the most anticipated films of the summer is an action musical in the form of Edgar Wright’s ‘Baby Driver’. Based on the film’s premise and pre-release hype, it seems that the soundtrack is integral to the plot of the film. So it’s only fitting that expectations for film’s soundtrack are sky-high.

In fact, many film critics who have already seen the movie last March at SXSW are raving about the film’s music, including a recent HR’s review which calls the film a “movie-as-mixtape with few slots available for catch-your-breath downtempo track.. a Gone in 60 Seconds for the La La Land crowd“.

Packed with big name artists that span generations, the soundtrack album is set for release on Jun 23, 2017 via Columbia Records imprint, 30th Century Records.

Some of the awesome tracks have already been featured on the trailers, from the first trailer’s ‘Nowhere To Run’ (Martha and the Vandella), and then later to ‘Tequila’ (The Button Down Brass), and ‘Radar Love‘ (Golden Earring). Now with the full soundtrack revealed, we not only see that some of the greats are contributing their classics including Queen, The Beach Boys, and Simon and Garfunkel, but there is also an original track by Danger Mouse, “Chase Me”.

The film follows Baby (Ansel Elgort), a young, talented getaway driver who “relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game.” But things went awry when he was forced to work for a mysterious crime boss (Kevin Spacey). ‘Baby’ is scheduled for release on June 28, 2017.

You can check out a portion of the track list below.

Lorde Reminds Us Of Her Teenage Days In New Single “Perfect Places”

Lorde: Perfect Places Review
by Niy Birden

Lorde . Republic Records

For the past few months, New Zealand-bread crooner Lorde has been blessing us with single after single from her new soon-to-be-released sophomore album, Melodrama. It comes after nearly 4 years since her debut, Pure Heroine, in which we got to have a dark, gloomy and refreshingly mysterious introduction to the teen with the millennial world in her pocket. And now she is back to remind us that she can still knock out a few hits or two, whilst still somehow being able to get away with her normal teenage rampage.

While her prior singles “Green Light” is her aggressive take on her “first major heartbreak” and “Liability” is on the take of yet another failed relationship, Perfect Places seems to give us more insight into what goes on in this mysterious heroine’s mind.

The song starts off with her two voices layered on top of each other, almost as close to each other as the teens who dance and grind together at parties that she regularly complains about in her songs, so much that you would actually question for a moment if you were just losing your mind rather than hearing two voices singing a normal melody. The lower voice is soft and brooding, the kind of voice you would hear in some kind of art film in which the main character starts going mentally insane, but in the best way that wouldn’t harm them.
