Peacock rolled into San Diego Comic-Con with high energy on Thursday, previewing Twisted Metal Season 2 with a fan-filled panel and a demolition derby-style bumper car experience. The upcoming season of the post-apocalyptic action-comedy premieres July 31 with three new episodes, followed by weekly drops through August.
Cast members Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, and Anthony Carrigan joined executive producers Michael Jonathan Smith and Asad Qizilbash in Ballroom 20 to discuss what’s ahead. The conversation hinted at bigger stakes and new characters, including the introduction of Calypso—a twisted figure at the center of the deadly vehicular tournament that drives the show’s second season arc.
After the panel, fans were invited to a Twisted Metal-themed activation where show-inspired bumper cars recreated the mayhem of the series. Mackie and Beatriz made surprise appearances, even handing out PlayStation 5 consoles to a few attendees.
Season 2 picks up as John and Quiet enter a lethal competition filled with explosive rivalries and returning threats, including the masked killer Sweet Tooth and John’s estranged sister, now known as Dollface. The show, a blend of dark humor and chaotic action, continues its reinterpretation of the classic PlayStation franchise.
New episodes of Twisted Metal stream Thursdays on Peacock through August 28.
