Mamma Mia! Here they are again. Swedish pop superstars ABBA have recorded new music, their first in 35 yearsAccording to the announcement, the band have recorded two new songs, one of which is titled, “I Still Have Faith In You.” No released dates were announced.
The band released the statement via their website:
“The decision to go ahead with the exciting ABBA avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence. We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and that we only had been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!
ABBA’s music is one of the most enduring in pop music. Since topping the global charts in the 70s and early 80s, they have become one of the most commercially successful bands of all-time, with estimated sales ranging from 140 to over 500 million records.
In 1999, Mamma Mia! the musical run in London’s West End and later in New York City, where it become one of the longest running Broadway shows. A musical romantic comedy film version starring Meryl Streep was released in 2008 to boxoffice success. A sequel, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” is set to be released this summer, this time starring Cher.
