The 72nd Cannes Film Festival has unveiled its official selection in Paris on Thursday, featuring films from auteurs and talented newcomers. The list was unveiled by Cannes Film Festival chief Thierry Frémaux. As previously announced, Focus Features’ zombie horror all-star ensemble comedy film “The Dead Don’t Die” will be kicking off the festival. Meanwhile, the Dexter Fletcher-directed Elton John biopic “Rocketman” is set to make its global debut in the festival.
Though one film that is noticeably missing in the announcement was Quentin Tarantino’s highly-anticipated film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” though Frémaux has mentioned that more films will be announced in the coming weeks. Given that “Hollywood” is still being edited, it could still make it to the festival.
