Focus Features has released the first teaser trailer for Bugonia, the latest film from director Yorgos Lanthimos. The dark comedy-thriller stars Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons as two men who believe a corporate executive is part of an alien plot to destroy Earth.

The film follows Teddy, a reclusive beekeeper, and his cousin Don, who kidnap Michelle, a pharmaceutical executive, convinced she is working with extraterrestrials. Based on the 2003 South Korean film Save the Green Planet!, Bugonia blends paranoia, absurdity, and deadpan humor in Lanthimos’s signature style.

The cast also includes Alicia Silverstone, Stavros Halkias, and Aidan Delbis. Bugonia marks another collaboration between Lanthimos and Stone, following The Favourite, Poor Things, and Kinds of Kindness.

Bugonia opens in theaters October 24, 2025.
