Mel Gibson is about to join Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming satire “Rothchild”, a black comedy set to be directed by Jon S. Baird, according to Variety.LaBeouf set to play Becket Rothchild, a family outcast who plots to get back into the family and its fortune.
As a charismatic and intelligent adult, Becket penetrates his way into the family, which sets him up into a clash with sinister family patriarch Whitelaw (Gibson) and Rothchild family members.
“Rothchild” was originally a 2014 Blacklist script written by John Patton Ford and being produced by Los Angeles-based production company Unified Pictures.
Scottish film director Jon S. Baird recently directed the biographical comedy-drama film “Stan & Ollie” which received positive reviews from critics during its release last October.
“Rothchild is a satirical and thrilling ride, and I am elated to be working with a filmmaker like Jon Baird, who not only has an incredible track record of guiding award-winning performances, but is crafting this film to be an action packed cautionary tale on wealth and power,” said producer Keith Kjarval.
