The 52nd Country Music Awards was hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, with the pregnant Underwood also performing and winning female vocalist of the year.It was a big night for Chris Stapleton who took home three awards including Male Vocalist of the Year. The night also honored Keith Urban as Entertainer of the Year. “I am very blessed and grateful to get to do what I do,” a tearful Urban said while accepting the award.
Garth Brookes opened the show with a moment of silence remembering the victims of the Thousand Oaks California mass shooting.
Some of the nights’ performances included Jason Aldean with Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line with Bebe Rexha, Dierks Bentley with Brothers Osborne, and nominees Keith Urban and Brett Young.
Recognizing the best of country music, the Country Music Association Awards was held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and was broadcast by ABC. Winners and nominees are selected by selected more than 7400 members of the County Music Association.
