Intense Official Trailer For Nolan’s ‘Dunkirk’

Warner Bros.

By Creative Media Times

The official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” was released by Warner Bros. on Friday and it is both harrowing and epic. Written and directed by Nolan, the movie concerns the mass rescue and evacuation of allied troops from the beaches of Dunkirk, France during World War II, where they were stranded and surrounded by the German army.

British Prime Minister Winston Churchill referred to the events in France “a colossal military disaster”. This line can be heard narrating the opening scenes, and quickly followed by ticking of the clock as we watch the allied troops under duress on land, air and sea.

The trailer is haunting, beautifully shot, and captured the intensity and chaos in Dunkirk. This all reminds us that the acclaimed filmmaker is not slowing down on making such large scale epic films, and that can only be a good thing. Nolan has put his heart and soul into this: in addition to his star-studded cast, he’s recruited 6,000 extras for the film. IMAX cameras were also hand-held by cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema for long durations, a painful yet pioneering practice on a feature film.

Dunkirk hits theaters July 21, similar to Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ and ‘Inception,’ which were both released in July.

Dark Tower’ Trailer Is Finally Here

By Creative Media Times

I do not kill with my gun…I kill with my heart.” ― Stephen King, The Gunslinger

One of the year’s most ambitious adaptations, Sony’s “The Dark Tower” finally got a trailer. Expectations are high on this one: the first of the eight-book saga from which the movie is based on began in 1983 with The Gunslinger, nearly a 35-year wait for fans. From what we have seen so far, its all worth it.

The overarching ideas of the books are there on the trailer, while also keeping some of King’s trademark elements; the discovery of another dimension, the lone gunslinger in a quest to reach the tower, and the vicious sorcerer aka The Man in Black on the chase. And similar to the trailer for King’s other big adaption this year, ‘It’, we find a boy lead us again into a world of mystery and epic journey.

The trailer look busy and broad; as one should expect there is no way to condense King’s series of novels on a 3-minute trailer so fans should keep their expectations in check. It does help to be aware that the movie is not a faithful adaptation but another take on the stories which King crafted over the years.

“The Dark Tower” stars Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey and Tom Taylor, as Roland Deschain/Gunslinger, Walter/The Man in Black, and Jake Chambers respectively. Directed and co-written by Nikolaj Arcel, the movie also stars Abbey Lee, Katheryn Winnick, Fran Kranz, Claudia Kim and Jackie Earle Haley. The movie is coming to theaters on August 4, 2017.

New Epic ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Trailer is here

By AI Creative Media

“It’s time for the Jedi to end,” Luke tells Rey at the end of the epic first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which premiered at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando on Friday before it was released online. The trailer was live streamed on the YouTube channel of Star Wars.

The Last Jedi is the follow-up to a small relatively unknown movie “The Force Awakens”, and continues to where Awakens left off. Of course that small movie is currently the highest grossing domestic film of all time.

Here we see Rey (Daisy Ridley) on a remote island where she first met the legendary Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), as well as intergalactic space battles, the Millenium Falcon, glimpses of Finn and Kylo Ren, and what seem like an epic battle between the Resistance and The First Order.

Directed by Rian Johnson (“Looper”), also features Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega) Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Later this year, we will find out if “The Last Jedi” lives up to the hype. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” arrives in theaters on Dec. 15. Watch the trailer below:

Atomic Blonde New Trailer Delivers Some Fierce Remix

By AI Creative Media

Yes, the coolest music video this week comes in the form of a movie trailer, that of Charlize Theron’s new action thriller Atomic Blonde. From that cool mash-up of Kanye’s “Black Skinhead” and Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus”, to a remix of the Eurythmics’s “Sweet Dreams”, and some help from New Order, the trailer’s music captures the intensity of its impressive fight scenes.

After playing Imperator Furiosa in the George Miller masterpiece Mad Max: Fury Road, we now see Theron back for more butt-kicking action, this time on a spy mission while looking sassy in a pair of stilettos. Following Mad Max and this weekend’s The Fate of the Furious, it seems that Theron is in a good place establishing herself as an action star.

Based on Antony Johnston’s 2012 graphic novel The Coldest City, Atomic Blonde is an action spy thriller set in Berlin’s world of espionage underworld, centering on the eve of the collapse of Berlin Wall. The story follows Theron’s Lorraine Broughton on a mission “to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies”.

Directed by David Leitch (John Wick), and written by Kurt Johnstad (300), the movie also star James McAvoy, John Goodman, Toby Jones and Sofia Boutella. The film made a big splash at South by Southwest back in March and will open nationwide on July 28.

New ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ trailer

By AI Creative Media

The first trailer for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ is here, and the god of Thunder is at it again, complete with helmets, chains and flames, minus Thor’s locks and powerful hammer. After what transpired in Avengers: Age of Ultron, we see Thor imprisoned without his weapon. But its really at the end part where we see a familiar face, the Hulk in what seem like a gladiator-esque battle with Thor: “He’s a friend from work!”

Here’s the official synopsis from Disney:
Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk!

‘The Mummy’ new poster has an eye (and double iris) on you

By AI Creative Media

Already shaping up as one of our most anticipated movies of the summer, Universal releases another poster and teaser trailer for ‘The Mummy’. And it is creepy.

The artwork features a close-up of Princess Ahmanet’s (Sofia Boutella) double iris and what looks like special characters tattooed on her face. It is a simple yet intriguing one-sheet that conveys the film’s elements of terror and ancient civilization which should delight horror fans. This puts Boutellas’ menacing stare, also seen on the first teaser trailer a few months ago, front and center.

Headlined by Tom Cruise, the movie is a reboot of The Mummy franchise and is intended to be the first installment in Universal Monsters shared universe. The series intends to include Invisible Man (supposedly starring Johnny Depp), The Wolf Man, Van Helsing, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Bride of Frankenstein.

A new extended trailer is expected to debut during the season finale of ‘The Walking Dead’ this Sunday.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman from a script by John Spaihts, the action-adventure horror film also stars Oscar winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator), Annabelle Wallis (King Arthur), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (The People V. O.J. Simpson).

The film is set to arrive on June 9.

First Trailer for Stephen King’s “It”

By Armando

In the terrifying first trailer for the updated version of Stephen King’s classic ‘It’, not everybody loves a clown (especially one that carries around a red balloon). In fact it may give you coulrophobia. Along with the first trailer, New Line Cinema also released a chilling new poster (right) for its upcoming film.

In the trailer, a boy chases his paper boat as it floats through the ditch and fell into the drainage. As he reaches down to find it, the boy saw the creepy head of a clown. In comes a group of curious kids known as The Loser Club, who finds out more about the mysterious disappearance of children in their town, and later come face to face with the evil clown.

Based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel of the same name, “It” was previously adapted in 1990 into a tv miniseries with Tim Curry as Pennywise. In June 2012, Hollywood Reporter announced that the novel, similar to the two-part tv series, will be cleaved into two films.

There’s only a few glimpses of Pennywise the Clown in this first teaser, which only adds to the mystery. But as creepy as the trailer is, it also have the same vibe of “Stand By Me”, the 1986 classic also based on a Stephen King novella.

It would be interesting to see if elements from both novels appear in the movie and how they will come to merge. It is an effective trailer nonetheless, evoking many elements of suburban dreads pertaining to child abductions and children’s fear of clowns, as well the terrors and jump scares of the horror genre.

The cast includes Jaeden Lieberher (“Midnight Special” and one of our most anticipated movies of the year “The Book of Henry”), Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”), Jeremy Ray Taylor, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton. Bill Skarsgård plays the Pennywise.

“It” is due to be released Sept. 8 by Warner Bros. Pictures and is directed by Argentinian filmmaker Andrés Muschietti.

Justice League trailer is out; Superman not in it

By AI Creative Media

WARNER BROS. PICTURES

After a couple of teasers and character posters, the long-awaited official Justice League trailer is finally out. And in true Zack Snyder fashion, the trailer is big on action, heavy on special effects and full of spectacle. It appears to be lighter and less grim for a Snyder trailer, possibly as sign of things to come from DC Cinematic Universe.

The trailer has a few reveals, clips of Ray Fisher’s Victor Stone a.k.a. Cyborg, Wonder Woman and her sidekicks, Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen/The Flash with his father (Billy Crudup) behind bars, Ben Affleck Batman’s excellent driving Batmobile skills, and just how cool Jason Momoa, I mean Aquaman really is.

But the missing reveal is Superman, who may or may not be returning from the dead as per the ending of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

But don’t take my word for it. Here’s the official synopsis of Justice Leagie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash — it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

“Justice League” arrives Nov. 17.
