Studio Ghibli’s beloved animated classic Kiki’s Delivery Service is returning to North American theaters in a newly restored 4K presentation, debuting exclusively in IMAX beginning March 13.
Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the 1989 coming-of-age fantasy will mark its first-ever release on IMAX screens in the U.S. and Canada. The engagement continues GKIDS’ partnership with IMAX to bring remastered Studio Ghibli titles back to theaters.
Audiences will have the option to watch the film in its original Japanese with subtitles or the English-language dubbed version.
Kiki’s Delivery Service follows a young witch-in-training who leaves home to find her place in the world, accompanied by her black cat, Jiji. The English dub features the voices of Kirsten Dunst, Janeane Garofalo, Phil Hartman, and Debbie Reynolds. Tickets are now on sale.
