Dale Dickey Leads Dark Thriller “The G”

theGDark Sky Films has announced the release date for The G, a suspenseful crime drama starring Dale Dickey (Winter’s Bone), set to hit theaters and VOD on June 27.

Directed by Karl R. Hearne, The G follows Ann Hunter—known as “The G”—a retired woman whose quiet suburban life is upended when she and her husband are forcibly removed from their home by a corrupt legal guardian. Placed into a bleak eldercare facility and stripped of their assets, The G begins a harrowing fight for justice alongside her granddaughter.

Described as a “winter-noir” and inspired by real events from the filmmaker’s own family, the film blends dark humor, suspense, and emotional depth while spotlighting age-related abuse in a broken system. Dickey delivers a standout performance in a rare lead role that challenges age and gender norms in the genre.

Also starring Romane Denis, Bruce Ramsay, Roc Lafortune, and Christian Jadah, The G runs 105 minutes and is distributed by Dark Sky Films.
