FUNimation Films’ live-action adaptation of “Kingdom” is set to have North American screening next month.Feating Kento Yamazaki, Ryo Yoshizawa, Masami Nagasawa, Kanna Hashimoto, Kanata Hongō, Shinnosuke Mitsushima, and Takao Osawa, “Kingdom: is directed by Shinsuke Sato, “Kingdom” is set for limited release on August 16 in the US and Canada.
Produced by Kôji Hirano, Naoaki Kitajima, Shinzô Matsuhashi, Ryôsuke Mori, the film is from a screenplay written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa and Shinsuke Sato, based on the manga created by Yasuhisa Hara. The film has not yet been rated, but will be in Japanese with English subtitles.

Orphaned by war, a young boy and his friend dream of changing their fate and becoming the world’s greatest generals. And after his friend sacrifices himself to protect the future emperor, the young boy’s path to greatness is set in motion.
